LAM Forum 2019

Seventh Annual Latin American Policy Forum

“Challenges in Latin America: Democracy and Development”, May 10th, 2019. International House

The LAM Policy Forum provides an opportunity for renowned practitioners and world-class policy leaders to discuss Latin American policy issues with graduate and undergraduate students as well as leading academic researchers in the Chicago area. In past years, the event has hosted many notable Latin American policymakers and leaders, such as current and former ministers, Latin American ambassadors to the U.S., prominent academic and policy experts. The last edition of the LAM Forum had more than 350 participants from different schools from all over the United States.

This year, the Forum celebrates its seventh anniversary and will cover three main topics: (i) Macroeconomic Stability: Key to Development, (ii) Public-Private Partnerships: Economy, Politics, and Social Development, and (iii) New Governments, New Politics? Understanding Expectations. This is the third time we are working together with The University of Chicago Provost office to bring together policy practitioners and representatives of the public sector to tackle the most important policy challenges on the current political and economic context.
